We HEART Markets
South Africa is on a whole nother level when it comes to community markets and we LOVE it!
These weekly pop-up community or farmers markets are where farmers, brewers, bakers and candlestick makers congregate (usually) under one of these magnificent stretch tents (as seen in the image above) to sell their produce to the public.
Nothing beats doing your weekly food shop out in the open air especially when you can tick things off of your shopping list like organic veggies, raw honey, locally produced refreshments and much more! Also, one can’t exactly take a snack break at an artisinal food stall when pacing up and down a regular grocery store aisle now can they?!
One of our favourite markets in South Africa is the Cape Point Vineyard Community Market in Noordhoek. Picture this: You lay your picnic blanket down on the lush, green lawn, grab the artisinal dish of your choice and enjoy it paired with a glass of rouge from the Vineyard as you witness the beautiful sun setting behind the Atlantic Ocean.
We are so looking forward to exploring Sweden’s markets this summer. Post us a comment of your favourite marketplace!
